Yes, epoxy glue can be used on most metals. A metal to metal epoxy adhesive has the ability to create a strong, durable, and long-lasting bond between two metal pieces. Sometimes, you may need to connect two metal pieces without any nuts, bolts, and welding. This is where metal to metal epoxy glue comes in handy. The best metal epoxy adhesives will allow you to bind most types of metal, which is perfect for metal workers, construction workers, jewelers, artists, and mechanics. Our epoxy glue does not work with anodized metals.

How do I use epoxy glue for metal?

You don’t need to be a professional engineer to use epoxy glue for metal. Using the best epoxy glue for metal, such as Bibgong H-A9006 epoxy adhesive, is easy to apply if you follow these steps:

1. Clean the metal surfaces you plan on applying metal epoxy adhesive to. Do this by removing any dirt, rust, grime, oil, paint, and other debris with a cloth and light cleaning solution or degreaser.
2. After you’ve cleaned the surfaces of your metal pieces, use 80-120 grit sandpaper to rough up each side of the material you will be bonding together.
3. Once your metal surfaces are cleaned and sanded, mix your epoxy glue for metal solution. Take 4 cups, a mixing utensil, and the epoxy resin and hardener. Pour equal amounts by volume of the 300 resin and 11 hardener in to separate cups. Pour these two cups into the third container and mix together for 3-5 minutes. Pour the mixed material into the final clean cup and mix together for another 2-3 minutes.
4. After you’ve mixed your metal to metal epoxy adhesive, you can apply it to both surfaces using a paintbrush. It’s advised to only mix small portions of your epoxy solution to prevent it from curing mid-project. Once applied, use a clamp to hold your metal pieces together and give it at least 24 hours to cure before putting your objects into use. The epoxy will continue to cure and harden for a period of 7 days so if this is going to be used in a high stress situation we recommend waiting 7 days for the full strength cure.

How to remove epoxy glue from metal?

Metal to metal epoxy glue is an extremely durable and adhesive compound that creates long-lasting bonds. However, sometimes you may need to remove the epoxy glue. To remove metal epoxy adhesive, use paint stripper and wedges to soften and pry apart the two sides. Then, using a plastic or metal scraper and more solvent, scrape away the epoxy glue. If there are any remnants, you can use a sander to sand away the metal epoxy glue.
